
Description
It is lactitol monohydrate syrup. Only minimally absorbed & not hydrolysed by disaccharides of GIT. EVA Q (Lactitol) possesses a series of advantages, which makes it a superior alternative: Gentle and reliable regulation of the bowels, suitable for children. Not addictive, hence no misuse. Suitable for long-term use & Safe for diabetic patients.
Indications
Treatment of constipation.
Prevention and treatment of hepatic encephalopathy.
Composition
Each 15 ml contains
Lactitol Monohydrate - 10 gm
Benzoic Acid - 0.0225 gm
Dosage and Administration
Constipation
Adult: 15 to 30 ml per day.
Paediatric: 2 to 6 years – 5ml-10 ml per day.
For children above age of 6 years - 10 to 15 ml per day.
250-400mg/kg bodyweight per day
Side Effects
Abdominal distension or cramp and flatulence. Occasionally diarrhea & anal pruritus.
Contraindications
Appendicitis, Patients with intestinal obstruction, where an underlying organic lesion of the gastrointestinal tract is suspected, or in cases of unexplained abdominal pain or bleeding. Hypersensitivity to the drug or any other component of the formulation

Eva Q syrup is available in a bottle of 100 ml, 200 ml and 450 ml.
