Rabeprazole is a second generation proton pump inhibitor. It causes long lasting inhibition of acid secretion by irreversibly blocking H+K+ ATPase enzyme. It is chemically more acid stable. It controls symptoms rapidly than other proton pump inhibitor and provides better ulcer healing rates than PPIs.

Rabeprazole in Repraz-D is PPI (Proton Pump Inhibitor) which suppresses gastric acid secretion by inhibiting H+ K+ ATPase. It has faster onset of action and faster symptom control than other PPI. It is well tolerated with less potential drug interactions. Domperidone is prokinetic agent from the class of antidopaminergics. It selectively blocks dopamine receptors (D2) in Stomach & CTZ (Chemo receptor trigger zone) and stops reflux of acidic contents of stomach to esophagus and improves peristalsis pushing gastric content downward. It is developed in sustained release form for longer duration of action with convenience of once daily dose. Rabeprazole provide faster onset of action while domperidone ensure longer duration of action and hence combination of Rabeprazole & Domperidone SR is effective to treat symptoms underlying causes of reflux disease.
