Antibiotics

Azirite 250/500
Composition
Each film coated tablet contains:

Azithromycin
250 mg / 500 mg
Azirite suspension
Description
AZIRITE contains Azithromycin, a macrolide class of antibiotic for oral administration.

Cell division or multiplication of bacteria is dependent on both DNA and protein synthesis. Azithromycin inhibits protein synthesis in bacteria by binding to 50S ribosomal subunit.

Inhibition of protein synthesis by azithromycin leads to the cessation of both cell division and DNA synthesis and hence Azithromycin exerts bactericidal action.

Respiratory Tract Infections
Otitis Media
Skin & Soft tissue Infections
Typhoid Fever
Uncomplicated Genital Infections
Non-gonococcal urethritis
Prevention & Treatment of Malaria along with anti-malarial drugs

Cefo 100/200
Composition
Each tablet contains:
Cefixime   - 100 / 200 mg
Cefo Suspension
Description
Cefixime is an orally administered third generation, extended spectrum cephalosporin with a wider antimicrobial spectrum than earlier oral cephalosporin. Cefixime kills bacteria by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis. When protective cell walls are compromised, bacteria cannot defend against natural antibodies produced by the immune system thus producing bactericidal action.
Indications
Upper respiratory tract infection
Lower respiratory tract infection
Otitis media
Typhoid fever
Urinary Tract infection
Switch over therapy after third generation injectable cephalosporin
Composition
Each 5 ml suspension contains
Cefixime - 50 mg
Dosage
Adults
200 mg every 12 hours.
Children
8 mg/kg/day suspension as a single daily dose or as 4 mg/kg every 12 hours.
Typhoid fever: 20 mg/kg/day for 10 - 14 days.
Side Effects
Diarrhoea, headache, nausea, abdominal pain and dyspepsia.
Contraindications
Cefixime is contraindicated in patients with known allergies to cephalosporins or penicillin antibiotics.
Presentation

Cefo LX 100
Composition
Each film coated tablet contains:
Cefixime Trihydrate   -   100 mg
Cloxacillin   -   500 mg
Lactic Acid Bacillus   -   45 million spores
Cefo LX 200
Description
Cefixime shows excellent clinical efficacy in respiratory tract infections, Urinary tract infection & Enteric fever. It is not active against some gram positive and gram negative microorganisms.

Addition of Cloxacillin ensures that the Cefixime overcomes the resistance and thus expands its antibacterial activity against organisms like Staphylococcus aureus. 10-15% of patients given Cefixime & cloxacillin report diarrhea, which makes treatment complicated. But inclusion of spores of lactic acid bacillus, a probiotic, re-establish normal condition in the colon and prevent antibiotic induced diarrhoea.

Thus the combination will provide excellent efficacy against various infections caused by gram positive and gram negative bacteria without alteration in the bowel movement.
Indications
Respiratory Tract Infections
Skin & Soft Tissue Infections
Post Surgical Infections
Gynecological Infections
Composition
Each film coated tablet contains:
Cefixime Trihydrate - 200 mg
Cloxacillin - 500 mg
Lactic Acid Bacillus - 90 million spores
Dosage
Twice daily for 3-7 days depending on the severity of infections
Presentation
Cefo LX is available as a strip of 10 tablets.
